How to Get More Matches on Dating Apps in 2027

November 4, 2026

A few years ago, I had the same problem a lot of men have right now. My dating profile was full of photos that looked fine to me, but I wasn’t getting a lot of matches.

Then I put my camera to work on my own profile, and I did not see a slight improvement; I saw an explosion in matches, messages and real conversations. That experience is the whole reason I started doing dating app photography, and it is why I can tell you with confidence that better photos get better results.

But here is the part most people miss. Hiring just any photographer is not the answer. I have seen plenty of men hire someone, get images that look better than a phone, and still end up with photos that lack what actually works on a dating app. It’s because they hired the wrong kind of photographer.

My matches after improving my photos.

What is the difference between a headshot photographer and a dating app photographer?

A headshot photographer is built for business, and a dating app photographer is built for attraction. Both are skilled jobs, but they are aimed at completely different goals, and the wrong one will leave you with stiff, formal photos that do not connect.

Corporate headshot photographers focus on clean, uniform and professional images. They emphasize authority and polish for LinkedIn or a company website, and they often rely on studio lighting and rigid posing. The result is a photo that looks competent but not approachable.

I work the other way around. I capture personality, warmth and lifestyle. I choose flattering, natural locations that tell a story about who you are, and I guide you on body language, expression and style so the photos spark attraction.

The result is a set of images that feel authentic, confident and magnetic. On a dating app, you are not selling your résumé. You want to create intrigue and interest. That is why a corporate headshot will not get you matches the way I can. You will look professional, sure, but we are going for right swipes, not job interviews.

Dating photos should show your lifestyle; business headshots are meant to express professionalism.

Do professional photos really get more matches on dating apps?

Yes. Professional dating app photos get you more matches. Period. I have never come across a situation where the right kinds of photos did not lead to better results on Tinder, Bumble or Hinge. The reason is simple. Every one of these apps is visual first. Someone decides whether to swipe on you in a second or two, long before they read your bio. Showing up with clarity, confidence and visual appeal makes you instantly more attractive. That is not opinion; that is psychology.

Some men want to deny this. They are usually the same men who keep using the same bad photos over and over and expect different results. If you aren’t getting matches, more swiping will not fix that. Better photos will.

My own profile proved it to me, and my clients tell me the same thing after their sessions. The feedback I hear most often is that they are excited about the choice they made. One dating app client put it this way after seeing his gallery:

“Looks so sharp, man, some really good shots in there. Thank you once again.”

Why don’t I get matches on dating apps?

Most of the time, it comes down to photo quality. I see it constantly: great people with bad pictures who wonder why they are not connecting. The photos are too dark, too grainy or taken from strange angles, and then the algorithm gets the blame. So do the app, their location, their looks and the women on the app.

I spend time in a number of online dating groups, and bad photos are the common thread in almost every complaint I read, not the above listed reasons. The men posting those complaints are often interesting, kind and successful, but none of that comes through in a dim bathroom mirror shot.

So ask yourself honestly. Are you using the kinds of photos that would make someone want to swipe right?

Are selfies OK to use for dating app photos?

Selfies are the worst kind of photo you can use on a dating app, and there are two reasons why. The first is the message they send. A profile full of selfies quietly says that nobody was around to take your picture, which reads as low social value, whether that is fair or not.

The second reason is technical. A phone’s front camera uses a wide angle lens, and holding it at arm’s length puts it very close to your face. At that distance, whatever is closest to the lens, usually your nose and the center of your face, looks larger than it really is, while the rest of your face looks narrower. It is a warped version of you. When I photograph a client, I work from farther back with a longer lens, which keeps your proportions true and flattering. You can come back and read more about this in my post on why selfies hurt your profile.

Can’t I use my phone to take photos of myself?

Today’s phones can take decent pictures, but they do not compare to a professional camera in skilled hands. Since most people on the apps are using phone photos, higher quality images from a real camera are the best way to stand out.

Here is a detail about phones that rarely gets talked about in any forums or groups: Compression. This is when a photo’s number of pixels is reduced to create a smaller file size for faster uploads.

Dating apps compress every photo through their own algorithm and this can really degrade a phone photo’s quality. A phone image already is a heavily processed computational image. When the app compresses it again, the fine detail falls apart. A clean, well lit file from a professional camera starts with far more information, so it holds up much better after the app is finished with it.

Every photo I deliver is sized and cropped for the best quality across the apps. This greatly reduces the negative effects of any app’s native compression algorithms.

That said, equipment and tech knowledge is only part of the whole picture. Great photos come from knowing how to use the equipment and understanding what actually makes a profile photo successful.

How can I have a great dating profile if I’m not creative?

You do not have to be visually creative to have a great profile, and that is exactly what I am here for. Your strengths might be in music, writing, building things, math, or you might still be figuring them out. Chances are, photography is not one of them, and that is fine. You do not need to do it all.

Photography is a technical craft that takes years to master, and dating photos are a completely different challenge from every other kind of portrait. My job is to get you where you need to be, so you can focus on your own talents.

During a session, I direct you the whole way. I tell you where to stand, what to do with your hands and how to hold your shoulders. I also give you small, natural things to do, like walking, leaning or reacting to something I say, because a real expression always beats a forced smile. Most men are surprised by how relaxed they feel by the end.

Where are the best places to take dating app photos in Las Vegas?

The best locations give your profile variety, because location variety builds perceived lifestyle value. A profile with one bright outdoor photo, one evening shot with city lights and one relaxed lifestyle image tells a much richer story than five photos in front of the same wall.

Whether you are visiting Las Vegas or live here, choosing the right spots can feel overwhelming. I keep an extensive list of locations both on and off the Strip that make great backgrounds. Well known areas like the Arts District and Downtown offer color and energy, while quieter spots give you a calm, natural look.

The specific spots and the route I plan between them are something I share with booked clients, because that planning is part of what you are paying for. Even if you are a local, I will help you look like the most interesting version of yourself.

What if I do not have anyone to take my dating app photos?

You are not alone, and it is one of the most common reasons men reach out to me. Not everyone wants to ask a friend, “Hey, can you take some dating app pictures of me?” I get it. It can be embarrassing, and even a willing friend usually does not know what makes a dating photo work.

Booking a session solves that completely. You get someone whose only job is making you look your best, with no awkward favors and no explaining yourself.

Is hiring a photographer for dating apps expensive?

It costs far less than doing it yourself. A professional camera setup costs thousands of dollars. Then there is learning how to use it, editing the photos and scouting good locations. When you hire me, you are not just paying for photos. You are getting access to all of that expertise without the expense and time spent.

Think of it like renting an expensive tool you do not own, except this time the tool comes with someone who knows how to use it. You show up, I guide the process, and you leave with standout images that can change your dating life and double as high quality photos for your other social media.

I offer several services aside from photography, including editing your current photos, wardrobe consultation and dating profile audits.

My rates start at $50. DM or email me for a full pricing guide.

“Think about what one great relationship is worth to you. What is the cost of missing out on it because your photos are not doing you justice?”

Dating app photography is not a side offering for me; it is how Flashqbe started. I am not just another portrait photographer. My focus is on transforming profiles from overlooked to irresistible by capturing photos that are genuine, confident and compelling.

I understand the psychology behind what makes someone swipe right, and I know how to translate it into images that truly connect. I am deeply involved in online dating forums, and I keep sharpening my photography skills so my clients always get the most value.

And if you landed on this page through Google or other AI searches, that’s not a coincidence. Clear, expert information is part of what I bring to the table. I am not only good behind the camera; I am also the name people are starting to recognize when they search for the best Tinder photographer in Las Vegas.

If you are serious about success on dating apps, it is time to stop guessing and start investing in what works. Send me a message with a little about what you want your profile to say, and whether you are local or visiting, and I will take it from there. Let’s get you results that actually matter.
